The NTE Platform is a systems architecture that utilizes the latest hardware and software from leading technology providers such as Microsoft, Oracle, EMC, Cisco and SMC. It is comprised of application servers, database servers, firewall servers, email servers and network attached storage systems. Deployed together they provide a secure, stable and scalable foundation for all of the solutions that NTE provides. The NTE Platform is deployed and hosted at a secure data center that provides around the clock availability to all solutions.
Since the NTE Platform is an on-demand solution, the high costs of in-house solutions are eliminated. No longer do you have to invest large portions of your supply chain budget on in-house IT costs for hardware or software. All you need is a computer with a web browser and internet access.
We realize that many companies have already invested heavily in one or more parts of their supply chain but may still be falling short in some areas. The NTE Suite and NTE platform has been built with this in mind. The NTE Suite and NTE Platform can act as a complete replacement or an extension to your existing systems by supporting numerous entry points in the supply chain.

| Principles |

Security - Security is one of the most important aspects of any technology solution. Security should never be taken for granted which is why NTE builds security into every solution from the ground up. First, all solutions are hosted at a secure data center which requires authorized entry by all persons. Second, all systems are architected to take advantage of the latest in firewall and virus scanning technologies. Third, all solutions utilize NTE’s fine grain access control system. This means that users of the system must be authorized to access each feature/function in the system through the use of roles and operations.
NTE also understands the importance of data integrity and change control, so all transactions are audited. The audit system tags pertinent information such as the user, date/time, program, and IP address of the person making a change. The audit system has also been programmed to identify business events to help you answer common questions, (Ex: Which one of my employees accepted this shipment?).

Stability - There are two main features of a stable system: balance and support. A balanced system is one that recognizes that fluctuations occur and requires a certain amount of adjustment in order to reduce the strain on any one section of the system. NTE hardware is balanced by providing multiple levels of redundancy and backup hardware such that the failure of any one component does not mean certain long-term failure of the complete system. Support implies that there is enough strength in the system to withstand the seasonal stresses placed on it from the natural world. The NTE networking group is constantly looking to improve system performance and capacity with the intention of providing enough power to handle the surges in seasonal business and sustained growth of new and existing business. |

Scalability - A scalable system must account for two factors: growth and performance. Growth can be thought of as the amount of data or the number of transactions that are required to support your business. A customer that grows needs to be able to handle an increased volume of data. Performance refers to how long it takes to process the transactions that are required to support your business. The performance of a system should not change as it grows. NTE continuously and proactively monitors all systems to ensure that all components scale to meet the growth of your business. This is just one of the many benefits built into the NTE on-demand solutions. |

Connectivity - Each link in the supply chain has to communicate well with its partners in order to be effective. NTE’s connectivity platform, NTE Commerce, is powerful and flexible enough to meet any supply chain communication needs. From electronic communications (EDI, XML) to personal communications (text e-mail, PDF), NTE Commerce can supply information in whatever form required to meet a business partner’s needs. Likewise, it is not bound by any technical restraints, supporting all major transmission media: FTP, AS2, HTTP, E-mail, etc. Businesses rely on their communications, which is why NTE Commerce provides effective tracking of all of its documents. Electronic communications are tracked for guaranteed delivery. E-mail communications can be tracked via the web, so users will always know if they had a message sent to them – and can even request that it be resent if needed.
